Come to Our Marriage, Our Mission
Whether you are married a few months or many years, you will laugh, learn, grow and be blessed by this four-part enrichment series sponsored by the Midland Area Catholic Community. The Friday evening presentations will be held from 6:30-8:30pm on November 2 at Our Lady of Grace (St. Agnes), November 9 at Blessed Sacrament, February 8 at Assumption of BVM, and February 15 at Our Lady of Grace (St. Agnes)
About the presenters: Joe & Cinda DeVet are natives of Midland who met at Midland High. Married in June of 1966, employment took them to Houston, Texas, where they currently reside. They are the parents of 8 children.
Early in their marriage, Joe and Cinda were called to marriage ministry. The couple has spent countless hours ministering to couples through active leadership in Engaged and Marriage Encounters, NFP and their own Couples Retreat. After retiring from his career with Exxon Chemical, Joe took a position with the Family Life Office of the Houston Archdiocese.
Our Marriage Our Mission was birthed as Joe and Cinda reflected on their life experiences during their Golden Anniversary preparations. While recalling the journey, they laughed at the many twists and turns in the marriage, some of which were not quite so humorous at the time! Along the way, with God’s grace and help from many sources, they gradually learned to integrate their Catholic faith into the day-to-day life of the Sacrament of Matrimony as they built a satisfying and flourishing union.
Two daughters, along with their Pastor, persuaded them to share their reflections and stories as a marriage enrichment program at their Seattle parish. Since they couldn’t say no to their own children, who trusted them to tell a meaningful and fun story, Joe and Cinda developed their reflections into Our Marriage, Our Mission. The program was enthusiastically received by 50 couples, married between 5 months thru 63 years! It has since been presented in Baltimore, with the same success.

Come to one or all four. Bring friends and meet new ones! Each evening will include refreshments and a time for fellowship. There is no cost to the evenings.
